My Own Memories.jpg

Flicking through photographs today from when my baby - who is now 15 months old - was born, I came across photos of him in our room in the Maternity Ward at the Hospital. It was within the first 48 hours after his birth, and I couldn't even tell you who took them, but I will be forever grateful they did. I looked at these photographs and something magical happened. They brought me back to when I first met him and fell instantly in love with this tiny human for the very first time! He still had that peeling skin, wrinkly fingers and his little eyes were so full of excitement exploring the new world around him!

If you know me well, you know that it isn't any surprise that I was in tears scrolling through these photographs. Seeing that memory in front of me showed me a different perspective. I remember at the time feeling tired, exhausted more to the point and to be honest I don't really remember a lot about those first few days after he was born. So, looking over the photographs it gave me an insight into the most amazing memories that I have!

15 months to the day have passed since these photographs were taken, and it only feels like yesterday. How often do we hear - where does the time go - but it is so true! I find that time is passing so quickly now my days are busier, and I sometimes forget to check in and see how far we have come as a family!

But, peering back on those memories I look so happy in the photographs in front of me. My husband looks so happy in the photographs and I can see the love that we both found for our new baby instantly by the way we were watching him so intently adjusting to the outside world.

“A picture is worth a thousand words, but the memories are priceless!”

Being a photographer, you would be right in thinking that I would have given thought to capturing this moment for our family, but to be very honest with you now - life happened and my focus was on the moment and not on capturing it for later. But, I am whole-heartedly and will be forever and ever grateful for the people in my life who took these precious photographs. Because one day, when Eli is older, I can show him and his children the love that he brought us right in that very moment!

Finding my passion as a photographer solely comes from my own experiences and what I have been given in life. The precious moments captured for me in a time of my life I never want to forget, I want to help you in collecting these moments for your family too! You may not think about it at the time, but when it's all over, and all you have left are memories, you are so grateful for when you can see moments passed right in front of you.

I am now offering a new lifestyle session to help capture your memories - The Fresh 48.
